Flights to Rarotonga from Christchurch and Wellington

Pasifika Air is planning direct flights between New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Once the travel bubble between our two countries is confirmed, we expect to operate three direct flights a week from Christchurch to Rarotonga and three direct flights a week from Wellington to Rarotonga, with return services on the same days.

Proposed schedule

  • Christchurch (CHC) 09:45 - Rarotonga (RAR) 15:30
  • Rarotonga (RAR) 16:30 - Wellington (WLG) 20:15
  • Wellington (WLG) 10:00 - Rarotonga (RAR) 15:15
  • Rarotonga (RAR) 16:30 - Christchurch (CHC) 20:30

Flights to Rarotonga will depart Christchurch and Wellington on alternate days. This schedule is proposed and may change before operations begin.

Time difference

Rarotonga is 22 hours behind New Zealand from 4 April, so you will arrive the day before you leave and you will lose a day when returning to New Zealand. Check the local times above when planning connections and accommodation.

Booking and fares

We expect to take bookings from this website from late March. All Pasifika Air fares (pre-payments) are held by Public Trust in a designated nominee company until you have flown. Read more in our frequently asked questions.

Flights will not commence until our respective Governments confirm it is safe to do so. See the about page for more on Pasifika Air, or contact us with any question.
